Video from February meeting
February's meeting was a great success with candidates Eric Terashima and Anderson Claytin appearing in person while current chair Dr. Bobbie Richardson was represented by Henrietta Coursey. Thank you to Herb Harton for providing the video below.
Note: Wake Democratic Men's Club does not endorse any one candidate for NCDP office, and offer this recording as a way to meet the candidates. Henrietta Coursey was a substitute for Bobbie Richardson and may have not been sufficiently prepare for the questions and was not aware that the forum was being recorded.
Letter from NCDP Chair Dr. Bobbie Richardson
Hello Wake Democratic Men’s Club & Friends:
I know some of you met yesterday evening and I am so sorry I was not able to make it! For the past couple of days, I have been representing North Carolina proudly at the Association of State Democratic Committees Meeting and at the DNC Meeting in Philadelphia. Henrietta tells me the meeting was well attended and full of good conversations. First, I want to thank Henry Jarrett, for his leadership as your President and other leaders such as Brendan, Ken, Seth, Bill, Steven, Rodney, my good friend Ruth, and so many others for their hard work and commitment to Wake County.
I hear some of you who have questions for me, and I encourage you to reach out to me via email if you ever need to get in touch. After hearing from Henrietta about the important conversations at the meeting, I wanted to share a few things with you.
We cannot fix everything in one two-year cycle. We need to be realistic about what can be achieved in two-year and four-year time frames, but there are several lessons learned from the last couple of years that we can start taking action on now. A critical part of mobilizing Democrats and sustaining long-term grassroots power is doubling down on our organizing investments. Re-establishing a ground game in every county to ensure we are talking to voters early and often. That means establishing our year-round organizing program once again, hiring locally, and securing the funding to scale it up.
As your State Party Chair and a former County Chair, I know the importance of investing in you. That’s why I am excited to share with you my plan by going to BobbiesPlan.com. It’s not just talk – it’s who we are and what we’re capable of. I hope this will provide you with an understanding of our accomplishments and what we can do to move us forward – and win elections. In my plan, I discuss my commitments for the future of the North Carolina Democratic Party.
Again, I want to thank Henry and the Officers and Board Members of the Wake Democratic Men's Club for the invitation and once again, I am very sorry for not being there. I’m excited to report back all the wonderful work we’re doing with the DNC and the Association of State Democratic Committees that will help us win in 2023, 2024, and beyond.
Your friend,
Bobbie Richardson
