June Meeting: DHHS Secretary Kody Kinsley

Kody Kinsley, Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, will be joining us on June 1. His topics will include the public health responses to the leading cause of the death of children, gun violence, as well as the under-reported fact that death by suicide is the greatest category of gun death.

A graduate of Brevard College and the University of Berkley, Kinsley first joined DHHS in 2018 and served as Chief Deputy Secretary for Health and Operations Lead for North Carolina’s COVID-19 response before Governor Cooper appointed him Secretary in January 2022, succeeding Dr. Mandy Cohen.
