The Wake Dem Forum is pleased to welcome the team from The Hometown Holler on Thursday, August 6, 2026, for an exciting conversation about new media and the evolving political media landscape.

Political communication is changing rapidly. Digital platforms, independent media voices, podcasts, video, and social media are transforming how people learn about candidates, public policy, elections, and the issues affecting their communities.

Hometown Holler has developed one of the most prominent, and distinctive voice within North Carolina’s new political media environment. Its team brings attention to the people, stories, and political developments shaping our state while using new media to reach audiences in accessible and engaging ways.

During the program, we will hear more about Hometown Holler’s work in North Carolina, the role of locally focused political media, and the opportunities and challenges that come with communicating in today’s fast-moving information environment.
